Season Two is the second season of Voltron: Legendary Defender and contains 13 episodes total. The official teaser trailer was released on October 4th, 2016.

It was initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that Season Two would premiere worldwide on Netflix in "late 2016".[2] At New York Comic-Con later that year, it was announced that the second season would instead premiere on January 20, 2017;[3] the second episode, "The Depths" premiered exclusively to attendees of the New York Comic-Con panel.

The season released for digital download on iTunes on August 15, 2017 and included a recording of the New York Comic-Con 2016 panel and a copy of the teaser trailer aired at the panel.[4][5]

The season's corresponding Comic is Volume 2, and it does not have a released soundtrack.

  • Production of Season One and season two were essentially finished prior to Season One airing, so staff consider them as a single giant season split in two.[6]
  • Not including flashbacks and implied destruction of civilizations, this season has the highest on-screen death toll of the aired episodes, with five deaths: Florona, Ulaz, Prorok, Thace, and Antok.
